Kevin Orr was AMAZING. He was recommended to us by a family friend who is also a long-time realtor. He took a lot of time, encouraged us to follow him around the house, and gave us a ton of info on repairs we should contract out and repairs we could handle ourselves. If he ever thought our questions were naive, he was patient and gracious enough to not let it show. He obviously takes pride in his work, and it's nice to still deal with people like that on occasion.
I would highly recommend him to anyone, especially for a pre-listing inspection. If you're in a situation where you inherited a house that you don't know a lot about and want to get a handle on what kind of work it needs, this inspection is not that expensive and is really worth it.
We just got one big home repair done that was informed by observations Keith made, and we couldn't be happier that we have his inspection to refer to when talking to contractors.

We had an outstanding experience with Shawn Thomas and cannot recommend him highly enough.
Shawn had more than 10 years of experience as a contractor previous to becoming a home inspector, and it truly shows in the depth, accuracy, and practicality of his inspection. Our home was built in 1969 and has many nuances that could have easily been glossed over, but Shawn was incredibly thorough, detail-oriented, and thoughtful throughout the entire process.
He spent a significant amount of time walking through the home and patiently explaining everything he was seeing, why it mattered, and what to expect as homeowners. He never rushed us and made sure we had ample time to ask questions, all of which he answered clearly and confidently. His ability to convey complex issues in a way that was easy to understand was genuinely impressive.
What truly set Shawn apart was how empowered he made us feel as homeowners. He did not just identify issues, he provided insight, practical advice, and thoughtful suggestions for next steps. He also shared helpful resources and references and explained how to properly maintain the home moving forward. He went far beyond a standard inspection and made sure we felt confident, informed, and prepared.
